mwbamwbqConocarpus mwbg(mwbwL., mwca1753) è un mwcqgenere di mwcgpiante appartenente alla mwcwfamiglia delle mwdaCombretaceae, diffuso nella mwdqzona tropicale di mwdgAmerica ed mwdwAfricacite-ref-0-1-0[1].

Il nome del genere deriva dal mwfqgreco κονος (mwfgkonos), che significa "cono", e καρπος (mwfwkarpos), che significa "frutto"cite-ref-austin-2-0[2].

Descrizione

Hanno portamento mwhwarbustivo o mwiaarboreo, con mwiqfusti molto ramificati, alti da 1 a 20 m.

Distribuzione e habitat

Una delle specie, mwjaC. erectus è ampiamente diffusa nelle mwjqmangrovie della mwjgfascia tropicale di mwjwAmerica e mwkaAfrica occidentalecite-ref-3[3]; l'mwlqareale di mwlgC. lancifolius invece è ristretto ad una piccola area attorno alle coste del mwlwMar Rosso (mwmaSomalia e mwmqYemen).cite-ref-4[4].

Tassonomia

Il genere mwoaConocarpus comprende due sole mwoqspeciecite-ref-0-1-1[1]:

• mwqamwqqConocarpus erectus mwqgL.
• mwraConocarpus lancifolius mwrgEngl.
